That night I got a phone call from the hospital to say what we were dreading to hear, that I had had a miscarriage.

On these days, we'll do the things that make us happy. Walk our beautiful dog, eat cake, drink tea and, if I'm totally honest, I'll cry. I try to be strong every day, hoping that things will get easier, but some days, you just need to stop and think. I think those days will be just that.

I was told by the sonographer 'Theres your baby!' so I looked at the screen and said 'Aww!' I was so happy, then she shattered my world, she said 'I'm so sorry theres no heartbeat'.

I just knew something wasn't right - that gut feeling kicked in, my legs shaking, waiting for somebody to say something and then them dreaded words were "so sorry Lauren there's no heartbeat".

Words cannot describe how we felt the day we were told that the baby's heart had stopped beating at 9 weeks.
