At the beginning of August 2020, we found out that we were expecting our third child. Unfortunately at our 12 week scan, we found out that I had experienced a missed miscarriage.
On Tuesday 13th October 2020, I went to hospital, alone (due to Covid restrictions), where I was due to have my child medically removed. I was given medication to help soften my cervix, but instead, it helped my child to pass on their own.
It all happens very quickly, and was very painful and messy. And to not have my husband there with me for support was absolutely heartbreaking and isolating.
We affectionately called our baby ‘Dot’, and remember them in everything that we do as a family, with all of my children.
A surreal, but also very real moment, that I will never forget.
