08/21/96 1st Miscarriage: Positive Test… Elation to end on the bathroom floor in the middle of the night blood all around me because I just wanted to be with my baby a little while longer. DNC. Rest. Hormones. Clomid. Negative tests. Disappointment. Depression.
07/09/97 2nd Miscarriage: Positive test… Cautious exuberant joy! Don’t breathe wrong. Don’t blink wrong. Cramping… Bleeding. Sobbing… No Heartbeat… DNC. The Doctor showed me my baby, she was about the size of a golf ball, I just wanted one look. Home to heal and rest.
08/03/98 1st Successful live birth. I went in for initial pregnancy testing and they said, “you are not pregnant, I’m sorry.” I thought another failed month of hormone shots and medicine. My cycle never came… 4 blood tests later the doctor finally decided I was pregnant! My boy stuck! But from a missed period in October, it just took 8 weeks for him to show up in the blood work. A Christmas miracle. I found out on Christmas Eve I was officially pregnant with him. My 1st miracle baby is named Mason and he is 25 now.
03/18/2000 The 3rd miscarriage held a miracle. After testing positive for pregnancy at the office, my twice a week HCGs continued to rise like crazy and everything was beautiful. Till 9 weeks when the bleeding came. I rushed to the ER, they said, “you’re having another miscarriage, your HCG has lowered.” My doctor wanted to do an internal ultrasound and then DNC. BUT The ultrasound showed 1 healthy baby with a strong heartbeat. I had miscarried a twin in their own amniotic sac. I was admitted, given medicine to close my cervix and we waited to see if the bleeding stopped while monitoring baby B. I got a stitch in my cervix. And was sent home to rest. Twice a week blood work and weekly ultrasounds. This baby B is named Jenna she is now 23. My 2nd miracle baby.
My doctor had to deliver Jenna by emergency C-section and I had complications that led to needing a hysterectomy.
I am so thankful Dr Nethers stuck by me and helped me have my 5 babies. My two miracle babies have been a joy to raise and I will forever love and long for my August, July, and March. One day… One day…
