At the start of August we saw the positive line on our pregnancy test and we were elated! Little did we know that 5 weeks later we would be heartbroken.
Those 5 weeks felt like a lifetime and we bonded with something that we didn’t even understand yet.
I knew something wasn’t quite right about a week before the miscarriage so went for a private scan as the Early Pregnancy Unit was closed over the weekend… They told us the worst and our hearts broke.
We then had to wait 3 days for our NHS scan to confirm what we already knew. The day they confirmed my pregnancy was coming to an end, they kept me on a ward due to being weak, poorly and physically in pain – no one prepares you for what your body has to go through. Over the next few days, there was nothing to do but wait.
Every moment brings new emotions… and it still does now, months later. Every milestone hits you, every scan you should have been at, every event you shouldn’t be drinking at, every pregnancy announcement on social media… it hurts.
But, there is hope. When you come through the other side and start planning the future, you can see hope again.
Our Baby Pep, you will never be forgotten ❤️
This year I will… Remember. Always and forever will I remember the joy you brought to us.
